Church Ministries

Ministers of the Word

Proclaim the Word of God at all Masses
Coordinator: Tom Fortune.  Contact through Parish Office.

Ministers of the Eucharist

Distribute the Eucharist at Mass and bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound.

Choir

Sing at 10:30a.m. Mass on Sundays
Practice….Tuesdays in Parish Church.
Cantors lead congregational singing at 6.30pm Vigil Mass

Cabinteely Christian Gospel Group

Group sings at 12.30a.m. Mass on Sundays
Practice: 8pm Wednesdays in the Parish Centre

Parish Liturgy Group

A group who meet monthly to plan liturgies in the parish including, reconciliation services, Lenten and Advent liturgies etc.
Coordinator: Rosemary Roy. Contact through Parish Office.

Park Liturgy Group for Mass with Families with Young Children

This group meets regularly to plan the Children’s Mass in the Park each Sunday at 11.30 a.m.
Coordinators: a group of parents.  Contact through Parish Office.

Flower Arranging

This group arranges the flowers for Sunday Mass and for Weddings and Special Occasions.
Coordinator: Eileen Kennedy. Contact through Parish Office.

Church Art and Environment

This group looks after the Crib, Easter Garden etc.
Coordinators: Ferghal O’ Farrell and Brian Brennan.  Contact through Parish Office.

Altar Servers

Training takes place regularly for the Parish Church and Mass Centre

Greeters

Greet People at the main Sunday masses and hand out the missalettes.

Faith Development & Sharing

Faith Development for Adults

Occasional courses held in the Parish, particularly at Lent and Advent

Discover

A reflection and discussion group for those aged 18-35.  Meets weekly on Thursdays at 8pm in the Parish House.

Scripture Sharing

Small neighbourhood groups who get together to pray the Scriptures and bring the Word of God to life.

Word Prayer Group

Meetings held every Thursday at 8pm in the Parish Centre.  Mass in Parish Centre on 1st Thursday of every month.

Sacramental

Baptism Group

Help parents prepare for the baptism of their child.  Pre-baptism meeting for parents is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month in the Parish House.

Parents’ First Communion Team

A small group of parents who host meetings for First Communion parents and share some of their own experiences of the occasion.

First Communion Faith Friends

Parents who accompany children preparing for First Communion by sharing their own faith with a small group of children.

Parents’ Confirmation Team

A small group of parents who host meetings for Confirmation parents and share some of their own experiences of the occasion.

Youth Groups

St Brigid’s Transition Year Link Project

Project for students from the parish who are in transition year.  The Group meet once a month for an organized programme of events.

Meals on Wheels

Hot meals provided six days a week to people who have difficulty in getting a meal ready. A voluntary service organized under the auspices of the EHB.

Social Club for Senior Citizens

Meets every Wednesday 2:30 – 4:30pm in the Parish Centre from September to June
