Focus on Finance

A few further bullet points to help clarify the financial accounts of the Parish –

such as they are available

at the back of the Church today.

- Accounts to end of Feb 2010 – break even situation, however income down by €14.7k offset by a saving on expenses of €14.2k.

- Family offering down on 2009 – recessionary times?. or disenchantment?

- Total family units in parish – 3,500 approx

- Number of family units contributing to Family Offering = 506  (14.5% !!)

- Tax receipts down –

Tax year 2009 = €17.1 k

Tax year 2008 = €31.5 k

Reason – strict adherence by Revenue on position re individuals with income other than PAYE.

PAYE only = tax reclaimed by Parish.

PAYE + other income = tax reclaimed by individual.
